Prep Time : 20 Minutes
Recipe : 1 lb boiling beef
2 quarts water
salt
1 carrot
1 turnip
1 onion
2 leeks
1 1/2 ounces barley
2 ounces peas (soaked overnight)

Boil meat, gently in salted water for 1 1/2 hours. Add diced vegetables, peas and barley.Simmer for 1 hour. Skim off fat and add chopped parsley on serving.
